New York, NY — Jeffrey A. Rinde, chair of the New York City Corporate & Securities Practice Group at Hodgson Russ LLP and chair of the firm’s Asia Practice Group, took part in the PIPEs Conference 2008, November 12 and 13, at the Hilton Hotel, New York City. The PIPEs Conference is the largest annual gathering of participants in private investments in public equity and alternative company finance. Mr. Rinde was a panelist in a legal roundtable discussion comprised of the leading U.S. legal counsel for PIPEs transactions in the market today. The PIPEs Conference focused on recent developments affecting the U.S. capital markets and issues related to finance and deal making.

Mr. Rinde was also a speaker at these recent conferences:

  • Global Chinese Financial Forum, October 31, at the Dalian World Expo Center, Dalian, China. The theme of the conference was the worldwide capital market and wealth management. The event promoted worldwide business opportunities by connecting international financial institutions with private companies in China interested in entering the global market. Mr. Rinde co-presented “Current Market Issues: Latest Regulations — Possible Hurdles for Chinese Companies?”

  • Fall 2008 China Growth Conference, October 23, at the Harvard Club, New York City. The conference introduced private and public Chinese companies to more than 200 investment bankers, hedge fund managers, buy/sell-side analysts and other financial professionals. Mr. Rinde took part in the panel discussion “Evaluating China Investment Opportunities Amid Global Market and Economic Turmoil.”

Mr. Rinde focuses his practice on securities regulation and compliance, representing numerous U.S. and foreign public corporations, with a particular emphasis on Asia. He has extensive experience in public and private equity and debt security financings, international mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financing, and corporate law and governance. He also represents issuers and merchant and investment banking firms in public and private securities offerings, as well as representing buyers, sellers, and financial advisors in a variety of public and private business combinations.
